TEXTILES & DESIGN

MRS KELLY EVANS
Students undertake the design and construction of a Major Textiles Project that is worth 50 percent of the HSC mark. The project focus is selected from one of the following areas: Apparel, Furnishings, Costume, Textile Arts or Non-Apparel.
The selected focus area allows students to explore in detail one area of interest through a creative textile design process that integrates the areas of Design, Properties and Performance of Textiles and the Australian Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Allied Industries.
The Major Textiles Project has TWO components: A supporting documentation and the textile item/s. Marks are awarded for creative and innovative approaches to the use of textiles in the design, selection and construction of their project. The supporting document is the written decision making process and justification of design ideas the student went through in the creation of their item.
Well done to Year 12 2021 on successfully completing your Major Work for Textiles.
